A team of three spent over a week removing the system, checking all parts and installing the 4 kW array on a Schletter PV Max ground mount system. To ensure that it wasn’t susceptible to the high winds that are common on this location the system was fixed in place with around 10 tonnes of concrete!

The OLEV scheme originally offered consumers a free charge point for their homes if they owned or leased a plug-in electric vehicle or were the main user such as a company car driver. As the budget got quickly used up due to the rapid growth of electric and plug-in hybrids the scheme funding reduced. As of writing this (June 25th 2015) the scheme now subsidizes the end user to 75% of the cost which means you would pay around £195 for a charger to be installed.
