As big fans of Electric Vehicles we at Futurum have got right behind the growth of the Electric Vehicle Charge Point market and are registered OLEV (Office of Low Emission Vehicles) installers. Since the push came from the government to grow the electric and plug in hybrid vehicle market, we have installed around 100 charge points under the OLEV scheme across Dorset and the South West.
Most of these are heavily subsidised under the OLEV scheme for owners or leasers of such vehicles as the Nissan LEAF and stunning Tesla.
We have installed both domestic and commercial units from manufacturers such as Rolec and Pod-Point. We have also carried out maintenance and installation for Dorset County Council.
There are a number of caveats to being eligible for the OLEV grant such as having the unit installed so that the vehicle can be charged off road for instance but for a full list contact our team on 01609 775500.
Our local council in Dorset has also recently provided 50% match funding for commercial units and we have installed one here at our Poundbury (Dorchester) office for our own and public use. Having helped publicise this grant we recently installed a Rolec Securicharge unit at popular local radio station Wessex FM. Wessex FM are an award winning radio station and also looking for ways to save energy and promote the green message.
The unit was installed outside their office in Dorchester in about 2 days with minimum disruption to their team and of course ensuring that the station was not off air. The Rolec unit can be used by anyone by simply purchasing tokens from reception.
