Futurum are hosting a Guest Event to showcase their two recent roof-top solar panel installations at Kingston Maurward Agricultural College on Friday September 18th 2015.

The event will take place between 09:30 and 11:30 at Coneygar (Animal Sciences Building). There will be an opportunity to view the two solar systems from roof level and also meet with staff from Futurum, Kingston Maurward and panel manufacturer Solarworld.
In 2014 Futurum installed 49.5kW (200 solar panels) on the new Animal Sciences Building at Kingston Maurward and have now put a further 28 kW (112 panels) on the new Dorset Studio School which opens to students for the September term.
These two installations will generate 78,370kWh of free electricity for the college every year for the next 20 years, a total of 1,567,400kWh of free electricity. Even at today’s rate of 15 pence per kWh this gives a projected saving in electricity costs of £235,110. In addition to these savings the college will benefit from the government’s Feed in Tariff (FiT) scheme which provides funding for domestic and commercial solar panel systems – the projected revenue from FiT over 20 years will be circa £200k. The combined savings and FiT revenue is almost £450,000
Solar panels remain an excellent way of producing on-site generated power and reducing business operating costs over their lifetime (at least 30 years).
